Tresa Vorenberg Goldsmiths Invites you to
"Canyon Road Paint Out"

10am – 3pm on Saturday, October 20, 2012

We are pleased to invite you to the Historic Canyon Road Paint Out – an annual event in Santa Fe featuring over 100 artists who will be working outdoors on this very special fall day. The fifth annual Paint Out continues a tradition of painting “en plein air” that began a century ago on this fabled Santa Fe road when an artist colony first formed.

Although the event is called “Paint Out”, you will see artists creating work in a variety of media - including sculptors, weavers, jewelers, and carvers who can’t resist this opportunity to showcase their world-class talents. The incredible diversity of creative talent represented by Canyon Road artists shows why the road has achieved an international reputation as a mecca for both artists and art lovers alike.

At Paint Out, some artists will paint or sculpt what they see, others will bring live models (both two- and four-legged), and still others will draw purely from imagination for their subject matter.  Throughout the day at numerous venues, a variety of demonstrations are planned from bronze casting to painting, from sculpting in Italian marble to canvas-making, and from painting to jewelry design.

A festival parade with marching bands takes place at noon and students from the Santa Fe Public Schools Music Education Program will perform in the early afternoon.  Music, food, art shows, and refreshments will be offered at locations all along Canyon Road. A list of participating artists is available on the VisitCanyonRoad <http://visitcanyonroad.com/paintout_current.html> event page.

Tresa Vorenberg Goldsmiths will be showcasing the designer jewelry of Donna Diglio in her exhibition, "A Gem Packed Life.”

Join us in welcoming the artist for a pair of receptions at 656 Canyon Road on August 10th and 17th from 5-7pm.  Show runs through August 19th.

Donna's works feature High Karat Gold, Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire, Tourmaline, Amethyst, Fire Opal, Coral, Turquoise, Lapis, Pearl, Rainbow Moonstone, Jade, Opal, and Rose Cut Diamonds as well as any other Gem that catches her imagination while she's absorbed with a new creation.

Today Donna Diglio is consumed by her obsession for creating unique forms of distinctive High Karat Gold beaded jewelry. She finds pleasure sifting through her treasure of collected beads, gems, stones and gold from all over the world. Donna uses them to create Necklaces, Bracelets, Anklets, Lariats and Earrings for a collection she's called Donna Diglio Originals.

Donna fashions a matching "suite of jewels" with many of her designs. Mixing and matching the pieces is part of the fun. Bracelets can be connected together to form necklaces, they can be added to Necklaces to change the length. Multi-use is the key to originality. The creations are endless.

"I don't follow trends," she says. "I design original jewelry from my heart that I believe is beautiful. I enjoy designing a wearable piece of art. After all, a lady does like to sparkle."

Collectors say that Donna's work has an "Egyptian quality, look and feel". This jewelry designer loves 18 & 22 KT Gold and uses it abundantly in her creations.

When a piece of jewelry is complete, the artist finds that she is attached to it and wants to keep it in her own collection. "They are like babies to me - it is so hard to let them go."

Finally, Donna releases each new creation to the world and lets it become another collector's Gem.

Whats New With Studio Q

Tresa Vorenberg Goldsmiths will be showcasing the designer jewelry of Studio Q in their exhibition, “Simple Elegance.” Join us in welcoming Michael and Katherine for a pair of receptions at 656 Canyon Road on June 29th and July 6th from 5-7pm.  Show runs through July 31st.  This is an exhibition of all new work along with existing art.

Michael and Katherine's home studio is a hand built solar powered adobe located near the historic village of Abiquiu (a bee Q), New Mexico. The juniper and chamisa studded hills and the Chama river valley below, once inspired artist Georgia O’ Keeffe who chose to live and work there. The landscape is an important backdrop in their creative life. They feel the expression of art is an attempt to more deeply understand the world around them. By looking more closely into what they see they hope to reveal the patterns in nature and how it unifies their relationship to art. Just as Buffalo grass, cactus and juniper work together to form a harmony in their landscape they use metal, fire and stone in an effort to evoke a similar harmony.

The process of jewelry making is for them purely collaborative. There is something special that happens when they work together which sharpens the relationship to their art. They do all of their own silver work using traditional fabrication from sheet sterling silver, soldering, hand finishing/polishing, patination and gemstone setting.

Their intention from the beginning has not only been to make jewelry for adornment, but instead to try and step beyond what is expected and make designs which surprise their audience with something new or innovative and in this way invite them into the creative process.

Tresa Vorenberg Goldsmiths will be showcasing the designer jewelry of Evy in her exhibition, “Expressions in Passion.” Join us in welcoming Evy for a reception at 656 Canyon Road on June 1st from 5-7pm. Show runs through June 24th.

Evy is a designer and creator of unique pieces of fine jewelry wrought in karat golds and sterling silver sumptuously accentuated with precious gemstones and pearls. All of her jewelry is hand-crafted and as a result no two pieces are ever alike. Using a creative process that is hers alone the resulting works of art are truly dramatic and timeless.

Inspired by her mother who had the rare distinction of being one of the few female diamond setters during the 20’s and 30’s, Evy’s vision and talent for creating these exciting one of kind pieces emerged at an early age. As her work progressed, she refined her skill with rigorous study at The School of Visual Arts in New York City and at the C. Bauer Studio.

Evy's designs can now be found in collections throughout the world.
