Artist’s Statement
As a Designer/Goldsmith for more than fifty years, I have focused my designing on the limitless variability and malleability of metal, but in tandem I have consistently asked, “What is the significance of adornment to the wearer and to society?”
Jewelry as adornment is a metaphor that symbolizes a selective beauty, an expression of love, esteem, prestige or the desire to explore artistic creativity that commemorates the times with which the wearer identifies.
Jewelry embodies the technology of the times and the skill of the artist/fabricator.
The owner of the jewelry applauds the creation and chooses to display it as an aesthetic statement. Jewelry is extremely personal.
My designs are a transmutation of my understanding of the materials at my workbench commingling with the personality of the owner who will choose the work that expresses our mutual sentiments.
Classic designs possess longevity…Fad fades. I diligently pursue the former.
